Salman Khan & Aamir Khan’s co-star Asin’s husband Rahul Sharma happens to be the founder of the company Micromax. He recently revealed in an interview he turned down more than Rs 6,500 crore funding.
Rahul said, “When Meizu was raising a round with Alibaba, we were deep down with them at that time. This was in 2014. We were raising around $800 million (Rs 6,700 crore by 2025 conversion rates). The business was throwing so much of cash, we said, ‘We don’t need money’. We didn’t take that money, we were like, ‘We’re doing quite well, and we already have so much of…”
He said, “We thought that if we’d taken care of the Finnish and the Koreans at that time, we could take care of the Chinese too… That was a different game, because when the Chinese came, they came with so much gunpowder.”
Asin got married to Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma on January 19, 2016 in a Christian wedding ceremony followed by Hindu rituals in New Delhi.
The Ghajini star tied the knot in a simple, private ceremony attended by family and close friends at a resort hotel.
The Catholic style wedding, which took place in the morning around 11, had Asin dressed in a white gown and Rahul, 39, sporting a black suit and bow tie.
“It was a beautiful wedding. Everyone looked amazing. It was Asin’s idea to have a Catholic wedding. We all are very happy,” said a close relative of Rahul.
Bollywood superstar and couple’s close friend Akshay Kumar attended the function. Delhi-based music group Elohim Worship band performed at the wedding.
“Everything went great at the wedding. We played 2-3 songs. Asin looked beautiful in her white gown. We had a rehearsal yesterday,” said a band member.
According to DNA and Forbes, Sharma enjoys a net worth of Rs 1300 crore and reports also say Asin’s net worth is around Rs 100 crore. Akshay Kumar, who starred with the actress in Housefull 2 and Khiladi 786, is said to have played Cupid in this love story.
The evening ceremony, which included jai mala and pheras, atypical of North Indian wedding, was also graced by Akshay.
