Shah Rukh Khan’s wife Gauri Khan owns the popular Mumbai restaurant Torii located at Bandra. And the restaurant has landed in trouble after a social media influencer made serious allegations in viral video.
Sarthak Sachdeva accused the restaurant for serving him fake paneer and one user responded saying- ‘Starch is the reason they turn color, not adulteration alone. Also, paneer made with palm oil and milk powder might pass the iodine test if no starch is present. Let’s not tarnish businesses with half truths..’
And Gauri Khan’s team also reacted to the claims and said, ’ The iodine test reflects the presence of starch, not the authenticity of the paneer. As the dish contains soy-based ingredients, this reaction is expected. We stand by the purity of our paneer and the integrity of our ingredients at Torii.'
Statement by Torii, a restaurant by Gauri Khan “We are utterly surprised at the news of ‘fake paneer’ being served at Torii. The iodine test reflects the presence of starch, not the authenticity of the paneer. For all dishes that contain soy-based ingredients (a staple in Asian food) this reaction is expected. From sourcing our produce to the food being served on the plate to our patrons, there are quality checks at every step of the way. Our commitment to excellence in the food we serve remains unwavered.”
Back in 2005, Gauri Khan and Sussanne Khan graced the couch of Karan Johar’s show Koffee With Karan and spoke about Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. Gauri opened up on the Pathaan actor’s religion and said, “There is a balance. I respect Shah Rukh’s religion but that doesn’t mean that I would convert and become a Muslim. I don’t believe in that. I think everybody is an individual and follows their religion. But, obviously there should be no disrespect. Like Shah Rukh would not disrespect my religion as well.”
On Aryan Khan
Aryan [Khan] is so into Shah Rukh , that he would follow his religion I feel. He will always say, ‘I am a Muslim.’ And when he tells this to my mother, she gets, ‘What do you mean?’ She’s dealing with it and it is true.”
Shah Rukh Khan , in his journey of 33 years and counting, has made a lot of friends in the industry and one of them is Chunky Panday. Talking to Time Out with Ankit in a recent interview, Panday shared some anecdotes about SRK.
