The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is currently underway, with all 10 teams having completed at least four or five games. With each game carrying crucial points, the competition for the top four spots remains intense. Teams will be looking for consistency and improving their net run rate (NRR) to stay in contention for the playoffs.

In yet another game that went down the wire, Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by two wickets with as many deliveries to spare at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens to collect just their third win this season.

Noor Ahmad was adjudged the Player of the Match for his haul of 4/31 that ensured KKR finished well below the 200-mark while Dewald Brevis struck a 22-ball fifty to help CSK, who were reeling at 60/5, bounce back from a horrible start.

Captain MS Dhoni later provided the finishing touch with a six off Andre Russell in the final over, with Anshul Kamboj hitting the winning boundary in the only delivery that he faced, as Chennai avenged their eight-wicket loss against Kolkata at Chepauk earlier this season.

The defeat also complicated KKR’s path to the playoffs, with the defending champions having suffered their sixth defeat of the season.
