5 ex-Indian cricketers who coached other national teams

While Team India has had quite a few foreign coaches over the years, including John Wright and Gary Kirsten, a number of ex-Indian cricketers have returned the favour by coaching other national teams

Sandeep Patil is perhaps the most famous example in this regard, having coached Kenya to the semi-finals of the 2003 World Cup

Lalchand Rajput has coached both Afghanistan as well as Zimbabwe in the past and had been appointed UAE head coach earlier this year

Robin Singh had coached Hong Kong men and USA women and was also part of the UAE men’s cricket team in a similar role recently, helping them qualify for the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Former India wicketkeeper Sameer Dighe had replaced Robin Singh as Hong Kong head coach for the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament

Dodda Ganesh had been appointed Kenya head coach in August this year, only to be removed just a month later with Cricket Kenya declaring that his appointment had been carried out improperly
